The Process

When I design a building, it is a two way conversation. The first and most important part for me is listening. My main focus is not on winning awards or being featured in architecture magazines, it is on creating functional spaces that you can actually afford to build and will continue to enjoy for years to come.

Let’s Chat

Firstly, let’s talk about your site, your budget and your vision. This could be anything from a vague description, sketch or some inspo images, to a fully resolved floor plan. Once I have taken the time to consider this information, we will meet via Teams/Zoom to discuss further and agree on some design options that you would like to explore. I will then go away and put something together for our next meeting.

Let's explore some options together

Flowstate Design uses the latest BIM (Building Information Modelling) 3D software, which means that from day 1 you will be able to see your project take shape in 3D before your very eyes. In our design meetings we can “spin the model” and explore options on the screen, in 3D, in real time.

It’s fun.

Let’s make it happen

Once we have explored all design options and are really happy with the outcome, it’s time to make it happen. I will work closely with your builder to ensure that your project is within budget and that the design & detailing of the project can be constructed efficiently and perform to the highest standards possible. If you don’t have a builder, I can recommend some great builders that I have worked with. I will engage all the necessary consultants to progress your project from council approval right through to building permit stage.
